Frequently Asked Questions (please request additions to this list if you don't see your question listed here):
1. Return/exchange policies:
What is your return/exchange policy for fabric purchases? Once it has been cut or was a drop ship order, it cannot be returned.
What is your return/exchange policy for non-fabric purchase? If you're not 100% satisfied with your order, please return the item via USPS Priority Mail in the exact same condition you received it in its original packaging with the packing slip within 14 business days of receiving the item(s) for a full refund. Shipping the item back to us will be your responsibility. If it's a return, there will be no restocking fee as the return shipping will be taken care of by you. Exchanges will be handled as a return and a new purchase so shipping to you will also be your responsibility.
2. Shipping & handling:
Which shipping methods are available to me? For domestic orders, all available methods from USPS are available as well as UPS Ground. For Canada, USPS International shipping methods are available. International shipping to other countries are available by special request at this time. Please contact us, and we can add your country to the shipping list.
How do you calculate shipping prices? It is calculated in real time based on weight of each item.
What is your handling cost? We do not add handling charges at this time.
What is your turn around time? For non-fabric items, turn around time is usually 1 business day. For fabric orders, we try to keep to a 1-2 day turn around time as we try to cut fabric in batches.
Do you offer free shipping codes? We may occasionally have free shipping promotions in the future. Come find us at www.diaperswappers.com or www.thebabywearer.com for WAHM/vendor announcements.
3. Product Care:
Should I prewash your bamboo fabrics prior to use? Yes, you should prewash at least 3x in hot water and hot dry to make sure that your fabric has preshrunk before making any end product. As the bamboo fabric is washed, they will absorb more liquid over time which means it has been fully prepped. Try to wash them separately from your other wash to preserve the fabric as washing with other items can snag and/or pill the fabric unnecessarily.
Do different fabrics shrink at different rates? Somewhat. It depends on your fabric content. For example, for some reason, velour shrinks less than fleece. Velour and other products with poly is very stretchy, but they shrink less than fabric without poly like fleece. So if you're planning on making an item with both velour and fleece, make sure to preshrink before sewing.
Does the dyed velour have to be prewashed? Not really. You should wash it at least once either before or after sewing, but since our dyed velour has been factory dyed, the fabric is already preshrunk. It goes through very hot wash cycles in the dyeing process.
4. Drop shipping rolls of fabric:
Do you drop ship rolls of bamboo fabric? Yes! We drop ship rolls as small as 40-60 yards via UPS Ground depending on what's in stock at the warehouse. Turn around time can be as soon as 1 business day. We can pretty much drop ship any bamboo fabric that's in stock so contact us about what your need is (some examples are fleece, single or double loop terry, jersey, interlock, etc).
What are your prices for drop shipping rolls? Before shipping are...
- orders of 1 or 2 rolls will get a discount of 15% off regular price
- orders of 3 rolls or more will get a discount of 20% off regular price
What if your warehouse is out of the item that I want? If the item is not in stock at the warehouse but you definitely want it, we can have it held for you until it comes in stock in the next shipment with at least a 30% deposit. (That's what they ask for, not what I ask.) If you're able to do so, this is a sure way to make sure you get what you want.
5. Prices of fabric:
Why are the prices of your fabric so low compared to other online stores? That is because our bamboo fabric source is right in our city. We do not need to add "shipping to us" charges on to the price of the fabric.
Can you match co-op prices? No. Unfortunately, since we are trying to make a profit so we can add more fabrics for the average sewer, we cannot match the close to wholesale prices of co-ops. They are great if you can wait for your fabric and/or want to deal with the hassle of weeding through emails every day. We can definitely recommend some good co-ops.
6. Product Inventory:
How do I know if you have the item in stock? See this link for more info.
Will you send continuous yardage? If you order more than one yard, I will attempt to send one continuous yardage of fabric. However, there are times when I come on a section with testing holes, so I will cut those out and send the remainder of the yardage you ordered. Please let us know ahead of time if you have any specific requests.
7. What are the certificates that you have for the bamboo fabric?
We have several certificates including ISO 9000 cert for the factory, Oeko-Tex 100 organic cert for the organic cotton portion of the bamboo fabrics, organic certification for the bamboo fiber, and lead testing for OBV, OBF, OBT, and dyed OBV.
8. Affiliations:
Are you affiliated with any other stores? We are opening a new business venture called 3Tree Design where we will be selling our new line of organic bamboo baby wraps called Anaju Wraps as well as introducing a line of affordable bamboo prefolds called Posy Pocket Fold. Website to come soon!
More to come...
